Arising out of Kevin Ashley's discussion, I would like to let everyone know
about a recent publication which deals extensively with questions of
reliability and authenticity, including evidential uses in law, of all
records including electronic. It is Heather MacNeil, Trusting Records:
legal, historical and diplomatic perspectives. Kluwer Academic Publishers,
Dordrecht, Boston and London, 2000. It is volume 1 in the new series The
Archivist's Library planned by the University of British Columbia.
