I believe that Carlo Celli, at Bowling Green State University, in Ohio, has
done work on Benigni. I think an article on the Benigni's "Cioni Mario di
Gaspare fu Giulia" monologue appeared in the summer issue of ITALICA (which
I don't have availabe in front of me to confirm). You might try reaching

If I'm not mistaken, Augusto Mastri, at the University of Louisville, in
Kentucky, is currently editing a collection of articles on various aspects
