The Steps are dfefinitely assymetrical and definitely put you off your stride.
My own story about them (no douby apocyrphal) is that one day a student was
running across the campus, misjudged the steps (easily done), tripped and
broke a leg.
A doctor was called from the (heavily psychiatric oriented) Health Centre,
and on arrival the first question was...."What were you running away from?"
