Your message is most useful and timely. I suspect I am one of the other two
SMRs to have contacted ExeGesIS about the problem. In my case a long text
description had disappeared and been replaced by a single sentence from
another monument. I had assumed that it was something I had done! Although
comforting to know it is a general problem rather than me it is worrying to
think that there may be more problem records. Have you found a large
number?
Mike

Subject: EXEGESIS USERS - MONUMENT DESCRIPTION FIELD
ALERT!!!
I have contacted Exegesis this morning in relation to a problem we (and at
least 2 other SMRs) are experiencing with the text description field within
the Monuments table. Some of our monuments (as yet unquantified) are having
their text descriptions overwritten with descriptions from other monuments.
The problem cannot be resolved in Access2 because of the way in which the
tables work. Exegesis are hoping that it will have been eliminated with the
Access97 upgrade, and until last week were unaware of this issue (I'm the
3rd SMR to have contacted them within the last week). The problem may be
much more widely spread however, since it may be that many SMRs will not as
yet have encountered the problem data.
Chris.
