John, you could well be right. At Physio school i believe we were always told that the elbow was prone to this myositis ossificans. I'll take your word for it that maybe it is one of those clinical myths. Must run i've got an ultrasound to carry out to improve my patients healing prognosis!!!!

Having fractured my olecranon many years ago (as a physio student) I did
a bit of research on myositis ossificans and was unable to find any
evidence that it is associated with over-vigorous mobilising.
Is this one of those clinical myths or have you seen this occur?
