Hi Henry
I personally had a dislocated elbow when 16.
You might find out what sort of dislocation this person had i.e.
- a dislocated radius due to an internal rotation/ compression force
rotating the radius around the ulna.
- an internally rotated dislocation of the ulna and radius due to the same
mechanism.
- a posterior dislocation of the ulna.
- a rare anterior dislocation due to a PA force against an extended elbow,
which always involves fracture.
- whether there were concomittent fractures of epicondyles, the status of
the annular ligament, etc.
The treatment that successfully helped me was
heat heat heat
serious deep tissue massage of the capsule with distraction +/- rotation at
both erom.
contract relax
sustained erom stretches
from memory it was very painful therapy but got the result.
Cheers
Bruce
