Local Economy Policy Unit, South Bank University, London
£19,505 to £26,746.
Three years with the possibility of extension.
The regeneration of the Elephant and Castle in the London Borough of
Southwark is of major strategic importance and some £600 million is
to be invested through a pioneering approach to the delivery of
sustainable regeneration. The Action Research Project is developing
an innovative approach to the independent evaluation of this large
scale regeneration programme - 'inclusive evaluation' - consisting of
both an Impact Study that includes the perspectives of all
stakeholders and research to support the Partnership's Sub Groups and
Community Forum.
The successful candidate will be the principle researcher for the
project, working with academic colleagues at LEPU and supported by a
part time research officer. Candidates should possess a
postgraduate qualification (PhD is desirable) in one of the social
science or build environment disciplines, have experience in the use
of qualitative and quantitative methods as applied to the evaluation
of urban policy and have a good understanding of partnership-based
urban regeneration programmes.
