QSR's NVivo and N5, and also N4 Classic, have been tested on Windows ME,
without any problems at all. QSR is confident of their reliability on that
platform.
However ME has only been out for a few weeks, so no solid information is
available yet from its user community about its reliability. The rule of
thumb is that if a program runs in Windows 98, it's probably OK on ME. But
that's only a rough guide - I know of one program that's fine on Win 98 and
Win 2000, indeed all the Wins, but won't start up on ME. So treat ME as a
bit of a question mark for now, and try to buy software that has tested OK
on it.

Subject: Windows ME
I have recently upgraded my Win 98 OS to Win ME (Millenium Edition). I have
found that some software (e.g., Norton System Works 2000) will not run on
Win ME (although it ran perfectly on Win 98), and I'm wondering what
information is available about the compatibility of certain qualitative
software packages on Win ME.
Specifically, I am interested in Atlas/ti, NVivo, and N5.
Any information will be greatly appreciated, as I need to purchase the
software within the next week.
Thanks,
Stephen Shaw
