** The clear advantage to an RCT is the first word; randomized. The
process of randomization is the absolute best means to control for the
effects of ALL confounding variables, even those whose existance the
researcher is ignorant to.

Frank, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is saying that all variables
are 'taken care of': if variations do exist, in a large sample they
will have a negligible influence on the final score taken across all
subjects (whatever that score is). And that if enough of this same
variation is present, therefore having a significant impact on the
final score, it's obviously a common enough 'variation', and when all
subject scores are collated this will be reflected.
Without all the correct terminology, is this pretty much right??
