As you probably know, the National Sports Medicine Institute of the United
Kingdom is a registered charity that provides postgraduate education
programmes for a range of healthcare professionals. The Medical Education
programme is run in partnership with another registered charity, the British
Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine.
We hold a series of Current Concepts meetings specifically for sport and
exercise medicine and science diplomates, post-MSc practitioners and special
interest groups. All meetings are interactive and leading edge.
The next meeting will be held at Churchill College, Cambridge on 8-9
December 2000 and is on Tendinopathies with three half day sessions, the
first on tendon science (structure, physiology, pathology and therapies),
the second on the achilles tendon and the third on the rotator cuff (both
sessions including classification, imaging, medical management,
rehabilitation and surgical management). There will also be an Open Forum
on CPD in Sports Medicine. The cost of the meeting is £90 - £110 including
meeting dinner. Accommodation has been reserved at the meeting venue.
