Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is seeking a Director of its
Carnegie Moscow Center, one of the most respected independent think tanks in
Russia. Director will provide intellectual and administrative leadership for
the Center which has a staff of 35 Russians, including 9 senior researchers,
an annual budget of more than $2 million, and an active program of research,
meetings and publications, and will act as principal liaison between the
Center and the Carnegie Endowment in Washington. Director will also monitor
and write on developments in the former Soviet Union. Ideal candidate will
have significant experience managing a policy program, a Ph.D. or other
advanced degree with specialization in Russian/Eurasian affairs, fluency in
Russian and on-the-ground experience in Russia.
Prospective start date: January 2001. Salary depending on experience.
