Those who will be in Chicago Nov. 2-5 might be interested in attending
the Radical Philosophy Association's 4th Bi-Annual Intern'l/Nat'l
Conference at Loyola University, 6525 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago.
The theme of this year's conference is "Radical Philosophy and Politics
to Begin a New Millenium". The full conference programme can be found

sessions, there will be workshops, a book display, poetry readings,
strategizing sessions, and performances.
Of particular interest to those in disability studies and related fields

Impairment"
Commentator: Cal Montgomery (Independent scholar)

paper in our session is unable to attend due to other commitments.)

On Sat. Nov. 4, 9:30am-10:30am in the Session entitled "Sex on the
Margins"
Abby Wilkerson (George Washington U) "Disability, Sex Radicalism and the
Moral Authority of Medicine".
There will be an Author Meets Critic session on the book Bodies and
Pleasures: Foucault and the Politics of Sexual Normalization by Ladelle
McWhorter (Richmond U) on Sat. Nov. 4, 9:30-10:30. In Bodies and
Pleasures, McWhorter, who is a disabled queer, discusses the politics of
psychiatry and epilepsy.
All sessions will be held in the Crown Humanities Center (at the end of
Loyola Ave. on the lake) and Centennial Forum (corner of Loyola Ave. and
Sheridan Rd.). Exact locations of sessions can be obtained at the
on-site registration tables in the 2nd floor lobby of the Crown Center
(noon-8pm, Thurs. Nov 2).
