My daughter has asked me to ask this: a colleague at work is known to his
staff as "Muldoon". When she asked why someone told her they thought it
had to do with Kipling. I pointed her at "A Walking Delegate" in "The
Day's Work" and she agreed that the retired Belt Line horse had traits in
common with her colleague! "But, why", she asks "did Kipling call the
horse Muldoon in the first place? Is it an allusion to some well-known
character elsewhere or what?"
Help please!
