All
A quiet period on the list, it seems -- perhaps those of us that teach
are now busy with new semesters? Our post-Cretan Supple Doctor has
returned refreshed, promoted, and I, for one, would wish to make him
publicly (publically?) very much welcome back. If the Supplest of All
might trouble in future postings to drop in a few references to the
beauty of the countryside he has been thrust (no doubt screaming and
kicking) into, I for one will spit pins and find it hard not to be
jealous. While he is, of course, in a job of work, the British term
'jammy' springs to mind somehow ... it's a dirty job, but someone has to
do Rievaulx.
It was a Pickering, after all, who brought us a nice text (Manchester
Univ Press?) of the Christi Leiden (after Priebsch).
Father East, welcome home.
