I hope this question isn't too simple. What is the standard method and
equations for calculating strain in transform faults? Also, what is the
calculations' relevence to earthquake prediction? To be more specific:
1. Equations for determining strain in transform faults in standard SI
(metric) measurements.
2. The standard method(s) by which the values which satisfy the equation are
determined.
3. The relevence of the above in prediction of probable intensity, the most
probable location of hypocenter, probable frequency and intensity of
aftershock(s), and approxmidate arrival time of earthquakes.
