Greetings, everyone--
My name is Travis D. Stolz and I serve as Pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, a small Lutheran parish in Baudette, MN (right on the Canadian,
i.e., Ontario, border). I received the BA in Religion (magna cum laude)
from Millikin University, Decatur, Illinois (1995), and the MDiv with a
concentration in Historical Theology from Concordia Theological Seminary,
Ft. Wayne, Indiana (1999). I am 28, and my wife (Kristin) and I are
expecting our first child in about one month.
My primary academic interests are in the areas of medieval theology,
history, and philosophy, as well as the study of the Reformation and the
Lutheran Symbols. I hope to begin graduate study leading to the PhD degree
in the area of medieval theology next year. I am hopeful that in addition
to making cyber-friends on this list, I can also benefit from the
discussions.
I am currently beginning research on two papers which I hope to have
published soon: one tentatively entitled, "The Sacrifice of the Mass and
Augustana XXIV," and the other looking at the very early influence of
William of Occam and nominalism on Martin Luther.
Looking forward to the discussions, and very happy to be a part of this
list.
Cheers,
The Rev. Travis D. Stolz
