As public libraries move into delivering services over the internet,
the ability to receive payment electronically becomes an essential
requirement.
I should be grateful to hear form authorities that have implemented
electronic methods of payment, and would be particularly
interested in the impact these may have had on patrons using
libraries in person: has it improved the take-up of chargeable loans
such as videos and CDs? has it improved the rate of payment of
other charges, such as overdue charges? Have any authorities
experimented with monthly payment methods?
Please respond direct to me and I will summarise for the list.
Many thanks, Colin Sleath
