Copyright public will promote respect and understanding of copyright and
will help you to provide a good service to your library and information
clientele, whilst remaining on the right side of the law
How will this event help you?
You will be given a thorough grounding in the basics of copyright, the
current law and its application in your sector as well as guidance on coping
with the law when dealing with library resources. The workshop will also
help you understand when and why licensing is necessary and where
appropriate give guidance on the conditions of certain licences. Clear
common sense advice will be given on all materials from print to digital.
The first two sessions are formal presentations but the workshop leader
encourages interactive participation and discussion of the various issues.
The final session is a practical workshop geared to your sector where you
will be able to consolidate your understanding of this complex but
important topic.
