Jim,
am I right in thinking the PCW was the green screen monitor with no hard drive and these rectagular disks you put into a slot in the side? If so I had one but, alas it has long gone to the skip. I'm sure if you ask around someone will have one in their loft or failing that try a boot fair - I regularly see them there - and I'm sure you could get one for less than £30 (even though its worth £0.30!). Make sure the software disks are with it though. I think the printer also had an unusal connection too. It was a dot matrix with about 4 pins, one of which fell out of mine and was lost inside the mechanism.
Good luck.

The story so far -
Part of the joy of preparing for moving to a new building is getting rid of
the clutter.
Now read on...
We have inherited several hundred floppies of both the 51/4 and 3 1/2
variety from our former field unit. These contain site reports, survey data
and other files I can't identify as yet. I am presently copying them from
floppy to hard drive, and from there they will go to CD, to be archived and
used.
As well as these, I also have around a dozen 3 inch Amstrad PCW discs which
I cannot read. From the notes on the labels, most are likely to have
reports on them, but may have data as well. They were mostly created by Bib
Sods, the well-known archaeologist and typing error (but no Pickburn files,
Bib, you'll be sorry to hear).
Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with these Amstrad discs (that
don't involve a box of matches)? Either access to a PCW or some way of
converting the files is needed but I don't presently have either.
