yes, "without censure"; it was the casualness with which Orderic
mentioned the married canon of Chartres (who was also a patron of Orderic's
abbey in the 1060's, if i recall correctly) that caught my attention almost as
much as the fact reported itself.

as i said, i believe that some Chartres sources were purged, bolderized,
perhaps even distroyed by the well meaning-scholars of modern times, but why
should a post-modern edition omit suchlike?
