I very much agree with Jim's appreciation of George's work. This list has
been for me, a goldmine of interesting discussion and on occasion for my own
work a godsend of valuable help. There is perhaps indeed a tendency (openly
asserted by most thinkers in the period we are dealing with in this list)
for things to decline rather than improve.. Any list owner who can
successfully keep that entropy at bay has my enduring gratitude (and I
suspect the pay is not very good either, let us remember).

Congratulations to Steve Rouse, but I have to differ with his
"appreciation" of George Ferzoco's recent message, which was both
useful in general (people tend to forget how to do things on lists)
and a relatively gentle reminder to keep on topic. If this list is
still, in my opinion, the most useful one out there, it is because
the list owners take their responsibilities seriously, and i don't
believe I am alone in appreciating it tremendously.
Thanks George, Carolyn, Ottfried, etc.
