Teaching Bisexuality
As more affirmative attitudes toward bisexuality have begun to emerge in
universities and community colleges, opportunities to teach courses
specifically about bisexuality have developed in academic settings. The
workshop presenters will dialogue with each other and the audience about
their experiences creating and teaching courses on bisexual issues, and
will share their syllabi, as well as their thoughts and suggestions
about developing courses that focus on and include affirmative
perspectives on bisexual identity, relationships, and community. We
especially welcome teachers and other bi educators with whom we may not
already have made contact to attend and actively participate so that the
discussion can be as broad-ranging and inclusive as possible.

How Bisexuals differ from lesbians/gays/straights in sex acts and body
parts interest & types of Relationships
In a study over 1,800 people, Dr. Klein has found that bisexuals are
indeed different from monosexuals in a number of ways with respect to
their interest in different sex acts, body parts and types of
relationships.
Fritz Klein, MD is a sex researcher for many years and lives in San
Diego CA. He has written a number of books on bisexuality (The
Bisexual Option) and is editor of the Journal of Bisexualilty
Changing our minds - acknowledging a new sexual identity in later life
Many men settle into a happy and fruitful "straight" marriage only to
question their sexuality decades later. Some may be forced to embrace
their gayness but there is so much at stake - the wife they genuinely
love, the children they have nurtured, the career and social standing
which revolved around their repectability. Many of them do not feel gay
or even particularly bisexual. They just experience a desire for men.
Everyone who has wrestled with the dilemma this presents has a unique
story to tell and a special wisdom to impart. This session will offer a
platform to tell your story and to form links with others who may be
able to understand.
Frank Dolan is an existential psychotherapist practising privately in
Hampshire and in the City of London. He is also a counselling tutor. He
is interested in hearing men's stories (in strictest confidence) as
background research for his MA thesis. He is bisexual, married and out
to his wife.
Bi 101 : The Klein Sexual Orientation Grid and the 3 different types of
bisexuals.
Dr. Fritz Klein will give a workshop on the 'Klein Sexual Orientation
Grid' which give seven variables of sexual orientation and the three
time periods (past, present, and ideal/future).He will show how looking
at sexual orientation this way overrides the labels that often do not
make sense: lesbian/gay/bi/straight. In addition, he will discuss the
three types of bisexuals - how they are the same and how they differ
from each other: bi-straight, bi-bi, and bi-lesbian/gay. There will be
ample time for Q & A.
