CONFRONT INTERNATIONAL EUTHANASIA GROUPS MEETING IN BOSTON
The Hemlock Foundation is picking up the tab for the joint meeting of the
World Federation of Right to Die Societies and National Hemlock Society.
The meeting, titled "Assisted Dying in the New Millennium-An International
Perspective", will be held at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel, September 1-4,
2000.
Leaders and activists in the pro-euthanasia movement from all over the
world will be on the program-Faye Girsh, Dr. Tim Quill, and many more.
Last year they met in Switzerland (and had a very nice time). This time,
they meet Not Dead Yet. There may not be a meeting in the U.S.
again for years. Now is the time to act.
Not Dead Yet and Co-sponsors (see reverse) will hold a rally on Saturday,
September 2 in response to this major "better dead than disabled" event.
Activities sponsored by Not Dead Yet alone are also planned for Sunday,
September 3. We want deliver a message of:
EQUALITY-Every human being is of equal value. Laws that treat some lives
as worth protecting, and other lives as worth ending, are discriminatory.
DIGNITY-Dignity isn't a handout, and our doctors can't give it to us in the
form of a lethal prescription. We dont need to die to have dignity.
DIVERSITY-Human diversity is a beautiful fact of life. There is no one
perfect kind of human being that we need to strive to be like. We all belong
in the human family.
PRIDE-The disability community is a positive, creative force. We take pride
in the strengths and accomplishments, and potential, of our community.
Individually and collectively, we take pride in being disabled.
