We are about to advertise 2 (one-year in the first instance) posts
for 'Post-Doctoral Instructors' in the School of Geography and
Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham to cover
for staff leave. The posts involve conducting tutorials, fieldwork and
some lecture classes. Candidates will be expected to have, or
shortly to have, a PhD in geography or a related discipline.
One post will be advertised as in 'the economic, social or regional
development of Europe broadly defined'.
The other post is to be advertised for someone with interests in
'social/cultural geography'. However we would not wish to
discourage those whose interests are in
political/economic/development geographies.
Both posts should be advertised in the Guardian on tuesday 15
August. Further details should also be posted on the University of
Birmingham website (www.bham.ac.uk) the same day. Go to the
geography homepage therein. But in the meantime, please pass
this message onto finishing postgrads and others who might be
interested.
