We are talking about Consultants not nurses. Consultants are not contracted for 37.5
hours but for 35 hours and have other duties as well as shopfloor.
Even if they do 8 fixed sessions of 3.5 hours each as in the NHS plan for England this is
28 hours a week when not on leave. They will be on leave for up to 10 weeks a year
including bank holidays and study leave so 28 hours for 42 weeks of the year.

So the calculation is 168/28 x52/42 = 7.42
But this only allows one on at a time and 8 fixed sessions is more than most Consultants
currently work. On six fixed sessions the calculation is 9.9
