Dear colleagues,
I am a sociologist doing research work on transcultural aspects of human behavior, culture and various social units (from small groups to societies). As rather substantial starting point I use the work of D. E. Brown, Cosmides and Tooby, Dunbar, Eibl-Eibesfeld and others. Given the theoretical landscape of our discipline and the amount of empirical work done, I would like to know who else addresses these issues in his actual work. Moreover, it would be exciting to establish a list of items thought (for what reason?) to be common to all or most humans/cultures/societies (extending the Murdock list) and a second one containing what is thought (for what reason?) to be particular.
The results of this inquiry will be send to everyone interested upon e-mail request at [log in to unmask]
