I'm not sure if this would be of any use, but while reading the last few
postings I keep recalling a book i read a while ago. Although the focus is
on how older people are infantilized there is also reference to the way
this happens to disabled people. I found this quite an interesting read,
as it considered the way older people are percieved by society to be more
dependant and are thus infantilized.
the ref is;
Hockey J 1993 Growing up and Growing Old: ageing and dependancy in the
life course. London Sage.
I hope that this is helpful.
