>>if so, why have Warwickshire Ambulance Service stopped doing prehospital
12
lead ECGs??<<
Who told you that they have?
The twelve lead technology on trial from one manufacturer was deemed
unsuitable for the needs identified and has just been collected by the rep.
A different system is to be trialled in the immediate future, initially on
two 24hr vehicles based at Warwick. All staff (Para and Tech) will gain
additional training in how to use the technology and the Paramedics will all
do a two day CCU secondment to improve analytical skills of 12 leads and
differential diagnosis (MI/angina etc)
Rural Warwickshire, in association with the local hospitals, expects to be
at the forefront of thrombolysis when it is cleared by the MCA, probably
later this year.
It seems reasonable to do trials to make sure the most suitable system is in
place but don't confuse this with a lack of faith, commitment or abandonment
of the project.
Hope this clears matters for you
