Dear group, hope you can help:
I am always looking for ways to inspire, illustrate and motivate my
patients to recognize the inherent power within themselves
(placeboeffect ?). I am looking for the details on a party "ice
breaker". I've
seen and done this but can't remember the exact how to.
It starts with one person sitting of standing with the arms rigid and to
the sides of the body. 2-3 people stand to the side and count 1-2-3 and
quickly lift the person with incredible ease. Those doing the lifting
are amazed how easily it is and how light the individual feels. An
interesting side effect - the lifters usually feel and immediate high.
Are these the same mechanisms that are occurring with reports of amazing
and unusual feats of strength such as occurs in sport or rescue
emergencies (a mother picking up a car off her imperiled child).
I have some ideas but would like some feedback from the brain trusts in
physio. Reminds me of Bullwinkle (Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon) "
Whoa... don't know my own strength !!!"
Best regards
Keith
