I have a patient c/o chronic shoulder pain and impingement symptoms.
He was scanned and diagnosed as having a partial tear of supraspinatus.
An acromioplasty was performed but he is very disappointed to discover that the surgeon did not sew up his s/spinatus tendon.
I've reassured him that partial tears of the rotator cuff tendons is probably a normal ageing related process and wondered if any body knows of any trials carried out that show the % of population that have asymptomatic rotator cuff tears.
Many thanx
