Hi Kelly:
I find that I am reading your e-mail looking over the top of my varifocal glasses, as this is more comfortable than tipping my head back, and nodding enthusiastically at all the replies (John Harrison and all you other sufferers have my sympathy). Fortunately, I can still get a comfortable reading distance from the screen, although this does mean setting it back further and having an extended keyboard.
As my wife and I share the computer, setting it up to fit both of our various differences isn't easy. My only comment on dedicated glasses, is the possible irritation at having to remove them if the job is not dedicated computer work.
Sorry this isn't the reference you were looking for but does add to the "straw poll" you are achieving of disatisfied users of bifocal type glasses.
