A huge increase in the number of crises or disasters experienced by private
sector firms and public organisations has occurred in the last few decades
of the 20th Century. They take two forms. On the one hand, there are those
triggered by external events, such as utilities failures, natural disasters,
sabotage, terrorism. On the other, there are those triggered by internal
events, such as systems breakdowns, industrial accidents, malicious acts.
How would your business cope in any of these catastrophes? Revised
legislation will make Directors and owners responsible for the actions of
their personnel. The government, as we speak, is being urged to introduce a
charge of corporate murder!
Business Continuity Management helps avoid chaos, whatever the catastrophe,
by having business continuity plans and structures in place. Do you live in
the hope that a crisis or disaster will never happen to your company? This
seminar will demonstrate the benefits of Business Continuity Management for
small and medium sized firms and organisations.
In particular, the main aims of the seminar are to:
- Awaken the Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) business community to the
implications concerning business continuity management
- Encourage delegates to consider, develop and revise policies for business
continuity in their organisations
The seminar will do this by :
- Providing a thorough understanding of the steps that can be taken to
ensure the survival of your business should a catastrophe occur
- Providing a forum for debate and discussion
- Establishing links for small and medium sized firms to access advice and
guidance
