The Department of Financial Studies of the University of Verona
organises an international conference:
Managing credit and market risk
New techniques for new sources of risk
Verona, Palazzo Giusti
May 25-26, 2000
In recent years, risk management technology has undergone an
irreversible process of innovation. Every day, new sophisticated methods
for measuring and controlling market and credit risk are created,
allowing financial institutions to put in practice mark-to-market risk
management and face adverse events, such as defaults and market losses.
The widespread use of financial engineering techniques in risk
management has also given the banks new instruments to improve internal
models and determine the adequate capital against market and credit risk
satisfying the requirements imposed by banks regulators.
The conference looks at risk management from a variety of perspectives
and has been designed to focus on all the important issues facing
industry professionals in this field. It provides a comprehensive view
of recent developments in managing market and credit risk and brings
together a panel of leading academics and practitioners, who will give
in-depth insights into the latest techniques for implementing
Value-at-Risk systems, measuring default risk and pricing credit
derivatives.

accomodation,…) can be found at the following website:
