LECTURER
(Communications and Information Technologies for Teaching and Learning)
This is a new post for a specialist in the field of educational technology.
The post holder will join an expanding academic team in developing good
practice and innovative approaches to teaching and learning through
research and collaborations with departments across UCL. A strong research
interest is expected. Suitable candidates may come from an education,
sociology or a computer science (eg HCI, CSCW) background. The appointment
is for two years, at a salary within the range, £19,372 - £24,713,
including London Allowance.
WEB DEVELOPMENT OFFICER: TEACHING AND LEARNING
A web technologist who will assist in the development of a key skills web
site for staff and students is sought. The web site will assist in
exploring opportunities for developing skills, logging achievement and
reflecting on learning. The person appointed will be a graduate with
experience in this field and in the use of current software for interactive
web site design and maintenance. Close liaison with staff in departments,
the students' union, the careers service and relevant external institutions
will be necessary so good communication skills are required. The
appointment is for one year at a salary within the range, £21,049 -
£26,613, including London Allowance.
PROJECT OFFICER/RESEARCH ASSISTANT
A project officer/research assistant is sought who will explore the
production needs of departments for both new electronic and traditional
learning resources. Changes in approaches to learning and teaching in
higher education involve the development of a range of learning resources
(not all electronic) and have big implications for departments. A full
needs analysis will assist UCL in developing appropriate overall support
for departments as they exploit the opportunities offered by new
technology. The person appointed will be a graduate and will be interested
in research. Good IT and communication skills are essential. The
appointment is for three years at a salary within the range, £18,420 -
£20,319, including London Allowance.
