Dear Sue,
In answer to your request, here is the format (so far) as to how our jounal
club will run (please see below for the announcement which was sent out). We
are brand new, and are also interested in ideas and other input!
Take care,
Heather
Hi!
Finally, the McK Journal club is now forming. We will keep the emails
separate from McKenzieStudy, and operate separately, to save those not
intersted in the concept from further emails. (If you have questions afer
reading below, just email me at [log in to unmask]).
To join, email:

The journal club's supporting web site will be that of McKenzieStudy (www.McKe
nziestudy.org). Just look for McKenzieResearchReview (Journal club) links
from there.
Here is the way it will work (all subject to change according to our needs):
1. We will vote on several journal articles each month on subjects related to
the spine.( note that members are responsible for submitting suggestions).
We'll use the "Polls" tool at the McKResearchReview site to vote.
2. The article chosen will be the article discussed in 2 months. (To give
adequate voting time and reading time).
3. We will discuss the month's article for the last 2 weeks of the month.
After that, communication may occur, but not required.
4. Each member may, if desired, facilitate/moderate one month's discussion.
5. The analysis of each article will be based upon our knowlege of the
McKenzie MDT method.
6. Julia Cherkin has kindly agreed to help initiate this Journal Club, and
will submit documents to put online about the analysis of research, including
info on statistics, etc.
I know several of you are actively involved in research...of course, I also
know your schedules are intense...That considered...if anyone else who also
has any info on research design, analysis, etc, and has the time to share, I
would gratefully accept them to put online for our members! Info on setting
up research grant proposals, etc, are all welcome. The total picture is
important.
We will allow at least 2 weeks for the journal club to fill to begin the
voting on articles, though submissions of articles to read is welcome.
(again, privately email me please.)
If there are questions or suggestions, please contact me privately,

Thank you!
Heather
