We are a charity supporting 40,000 members with intolerance to gluten the
protein part of wheat, barley, rye and oats.
As part of our service we produce a list of UK manufactured products which
are available nationally and are gluten-free.
However, this list becomes regularly out-of-date as products come and go
and so we are racking our brains to find a way of getting our members to
access regular updates.
One excellent way potentially is for us to tell them how to access the
internet via their own local libraries. Many of our members are 50+ and
are reluctant to get into technology. To help them therefore we want to
encourage them to go to a local library with internet access and with help
from the staff update their Food Lists. In particular we want to find out
the full listing of local libraries with internet access so we can advise of
the locations and charges before they take the trouble to use these
facilities. Our members would need to access the site once a month.
So my first question is - Is there a full listing of address
or contact numbers of all libraries with internet access + charges?
Secondly we would like our charity literature, quarterly
magazine, video etc. to be available free-of-charge on loan from local
libraries. As there are 4,000 libraries is there an easy way to contact
them all - get the correct address to send these publications to and set up
the system?
Thirdly, 1 in 700 people are undiagnosed coeliac, and upto
15 million people suffer from gluten-related wheat intolerance. Would any
libraries interested in a display of our publications and society details
like to get in touch with me.

Margaret,
