Good morning friends and colleagues,
I would very much appreciate it if someone were to help me locate a
couple of references/citations for something I'm putting together. I'm
interested in two claims made by proponents of the British social model.
The two claims are:
1. disability is nothing about the body
2. disability is the social consequence of impairment
A number of people have articulated these claims on this and another
disability-related list over the past months. Although I can certainly
make use of those enunciations, I would in addition like to know to whom
(if anyone in particular) these claims can be directly attributed. That
is: Who initially uttered these remarks? Perhaps they cannot be
attributed to any one individual. If this is the case, I'd be interested
to know that as well.
Please respond to me off-list at [log in to unmask]
Best regards, and thanks in advance for your assistance,
Shelley Tremain
