LECTURESHIP in COMPUTER SCIENCE
Applications are invited for a Lectureship with the School of
Computer Science. Candidates should have a PhD in Computer
Science or equivalent and demonstrate exceptional research
potential and teaching ability.
In addition to a full teaching programme there is substantial
research activity funded by EPSRC, Esprit and industry. The
Department has a Research Selectivity Rating of 4 and an SSR of
about 10:1. Outstanding candidates are sought to strengthen or
complement our work on Experimental Computer Science
(distributed systems, databases, operating systems, software
engineering, internet technologies, programming languages,
software architecture).
The School currently has 3 professors, 2 senior lecturers, 8
lecturers, and 9 post-doctoral fellows and provides a stimulating
environment for research and teaching. School resources include
extensive computing facilities of over 250 workstations and
personal computers with multimedia capabilities and specialized
networks and devices. Additional high performance computing
platforms, such as our 64-node Beowulf multi-computer, are also
available.
Those selected for interview will be invited to visit the School before
the interviews and details of undergraduate teaching and research
work can be discussed more fully at that time.
The salary will on the appropriate point on the Academic pay scale,
currently £17,238 to £30,063 per annum.
