"misused the woman" is the antecedent, so I would assume it is a sexual sin
(adultery? some perversion?) and not necessarily the clothing. The man's
clothing seems to play some role in her sexual misuse rather than being the
prime cause of her legal troubles. Was he thus hiding her from his wife or the
neighbors?
