Shin-splints is when the muscle detaches from the bone. The only treatment I
have heard of is to put your heel on a one and a half to two inch drop off
and raise your toes to the sky. It is like doing calf raises but the
opposite. Instead of putting your toes on the drop off you put your heel
onto the drop off and put your toes down to the ground and then raise them
to the sky to get the full motion of the muscle. This exercise will
strengthen the muscle on your shin. Be sure to have a pole or stick to hold
onto while doing this exercise so that you do not lose your balance.
