Dear All,
I have had great success with taping for plantar fascitis----far more in
the "non-sport" population. I have used a Lodi or modified Lodi taping
technique (X taping or teardrop taping). I clean the foot well, use
skin prep or skin toughener, no pre-wrap, etc. I have used this in
treating nurses, construction workers, PTs, school teachers, postmen,
secretaries, etc. If well done this tape job lasts about 3 days. In my
clinical practice I have been continually amazed at how well all kinds
of "sport taping" works in treating the non-sport population----a worthy
tool.
I know that it is not a long term solution but for immediate relief it
is worth considering---also gives you some time to start treatment and
get some orthotics in the works. I make my own biomech. vacuum pressed
thermacork light custom ground orthotics. The turn around time is 3-4
days.
