The article below should help you with regard to re-rupture rates:
Lo IK, et al. Operative versus nonoperative treatment of acute Achilles
tendon ruptures: a quantitative review.
Clin J Sport Med. 1997 Jul;7(3):207-11.
This is a meta-analysis of studies that indicates the overall rerupture rate
was 2.8% for operatively treated and 11.7% for nonoperatively treated
patients.
