PROJECT OFFICER: CGAP Microfinance Gateway/ELDIS
Putting the Internet to work for Development: help build a
microfinance web gateway
A Project Officer is required from April to December 2000 to work with an
existing team to coordinate the development of an internet gateway on
microfinance, and to support further technical development of the ELDIS
website (http://www.eldis.org). Candidates must have strong technical
skills and practical experience with website management, HTML,
web database development, and web
scripting languages, preferably Javascript and Perl. Experience of one
or more of Cold Fusion, Active Server Pages, Inmagic database software,
SQL, Linux, NT4 Server, IIS4, email-to-web gateway
software, email list software and email server software, would be an
advantage.
Candidates should have an interest in development issues and good
writing and communication skills.
The appointment will be full-time and fixed-term for up to 8 months, in
the first instance, with the possibility of extension depending on funding.
Salary will be in the range £18,915 to £24,479 p.a. depending on skills a
nd experience, within Grade 2 of the Universities' Other Related
Faculty Scales (pay award pending for 1.4.00).
