The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) is
looking for
a qualified candidate who will assist the Gender Adviser and the Head of
Democratization Section in identifying, developing and implementing the
ODIHR's programmes addressing gender equality issues.
Your duties will be to collect and analyze information on the situation of
women and implementation of women's human rights; to assist in designing and
implementing the ODIHR's gender technical assistance projects and to assist
in reviewing and editing of reports on gender equality activities and in
activities promoting gender awareness amongst participating States and the
OSCE field missions. You will be responsible for logistics arrangements with
regard to training activities, for preparation of draft budgets for
technical assistance projects, you will contribute to the preparation of
background information and reports related to gender issues and you will
assist in developing and maintaining contacts with other international
organizations, academic institutions, NGOs and experts and exchange
information pertaining to human rights situation of women.
Necessary Qualifications:
First-level university degree or equivalent in political, social science or
related fields. Two years of experience at the national level, experience
gained in an international environment is an asset. Excellent knowledge of
English, including drafting skills, is essential. Knowledge of another OSCE
language is desirable.
Salary Level:
The grade of the post is P1. Monthly remuneration, subject to social
security deductions, is about US$ 2,830.- (single rate) and about US$
3,000.- (dependency rate) (including post adjustment, the multiplier for
March being 15.9 %). Social benefits will include participation in the Van
Breda medical insurance scheme and in the OSCE's Provident Fund. Other
allowances and benefits are similar to those offered under the United
Nations Common System.
