Wellcome Trust Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Salary: UKP 16286-24479 (Level 3 enhancement).
Applications are invited from experienced research scientists for a
post-doctoral position on a new 3-year research project funded by the
Wellcome Trust. The project will investigate the use of coarse visual
information in written word recognition by adults of different reading
abilities and is one of a number of integrated projects conducted in this
laboratory investigating human visual language perception.
Applicants should have a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or other relevant
discipline, experience in vision or cognitive research, and proven skills in
the computational control of experiments and visual displays, including C++,
Pascal, or Delphi programming. Experience with eye-tracking equipment would
be an advantage. The successful applicant will join a supportive,
well-funded, active group of researchers from a range of backgrounds and
will be encouraged to become involved in all aspects of the project.
Starting salary will be at an appropriate point on the 1A scale, depending
on qualifications and experience, and will be subject to Wellcome Trust
Level 3 enhancement. Start date is negotiable but on or before October 1st,
2000 would be ideal.
