I would think you just as likely to make her dependent if she ended up
with very poor LV function and heart failure through not being
thrombolysed. We had a 85 year old man who refused thrombolysis when
someone told him it could cause a stroke -- two days later he developed
an LV thrombus on the infarcted akinetic area and threw off a clot down
one of his spinal arteries giving him an infarct causing paraplegia, he
died three weeks later in hospital in anguish at the thought he was
going to a nursing home if he did get out.
We should be careful to suppose "what if" scenarios if there isn't any
strong evidence either way.
