I must first appologise for the total lack of UK relevance to this post.
The base machine is US & many of the copies are US, but there is
a significant number of European clones. I hope that is adequate
justification.
So, I am part way through writing a history of Sydney University's copy of
von Neumann's IAS, via Uni Illinois, called SILLIAC. As part of it I am
making a list of the IAS family. I have start dates for all of these
(though often from only 1 source & that mainly HH Goldstine's book).
Can anyone fill in close down dates for me? I have quite a bit more
about some of these machines & almost nothing about some (like the Russian
BESM). My list (so far) is

they all share major architectural features.
