The "Institut des Sciences du Travail - Labour Sciences Institute,
department of the Catholic
University of Louvain, in Belgium, has just published the finding of a
European wide comparative research:
1) THE INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK AND THE PROCESSES OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
WITHIN THE 15 EU MEMBER STATES. Each level of the
IR systems is described in terms of players involved,
institutions wherein they negotiate, mandates assigned to
such institutions, nature and scope of the concluded agreements, and the
role played by the State in the processes of collective
bargaining.
2) TRENDS IN AGREEMENTS RELEVANT TO EMPLOYMENT AND THE LABOUR MARKET WITHIN
THE 15 EU MEMBER STATES. The book including analysis of both tripartite
cross industry "employment pacts", but also material coming from industry
and company level collective bargaining.
These two studies try to identify evolutions within the different
national collective bargaining systems, in particular in terms of
decentralization.
The results which are presented in these two publications result from a
comparative research carried out with the cooperation of a network composed of
national experts, specialized in the fields of the Industrial Relations:
