JOB VACANCY: April to December 2000
The Chair for Demography at Humboldt University (Social Science Department)
is looking for a social scientist (sociology/political science) or an
historian with expertise on East Central Europe and/or minority issues to
prepare and initialize a comparative research project on interethnic
relations (Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia). Applicants should
hold a Ph.D. and speak/read at least one relevant Eastern European language
(Bulgarian, Estonian, Hungarian, Romanian, Russian, Slovak or Turkish).
Knowledge of German would be a plus, but not mandatory. Applicants should
hold EU citizenship or have a work permit for the EU. Salary is according to
German BAT IIa. Employment beyond December 2000 (2001-2003) is an option,
but cannot be guaranteed at this point in time.
