Has anyone on the list looked at how health and fitness can be used by
organisations to recruit and retain workers? I am looking at workplace
health and fitness provision and one of the concerns that trade unions have
is that workers can be cajoled into undertaking a 'fitness' or 'health'
check and in the process they subject themselves to the gaze of management.
There checks can be repeated and linked to absenteeism rates to put pressure
on employees, especially older employees. If anyone has heard of similar
research, I would appreciate an email.
